Was going to ride with a friend nr Totnes today but only had a an hour or so to ride this morning so couldn’t make it. Still felt the need of some adrenaline so took my Orange Five out for a short spin from home. As its now built up into a heavyish freeride Bike its a fair effort now to get it up the Dartmoor climbs. Felt I needed to get some leg power back but legs were still a bit tired. Up the Top there was a 40mph headwind with driving rain. The second half of that loop (normally about an hour on my HT) it makes up for it with a couple of lovely fast tech descents but at the bottom into a track of mud – I was soaked when I got back and in desperate need of a shower. Although its only 13 miles its a fair amount of off off-road climbing and thick FR tyres my knees were complaining. Makes you feel alive and toughens you up for bad weather was my thinking! Now to wash the bike off!

You brave soul shocking weather today. I like the current bun in the sky.
Me too but its “character building”
LOL – good excuse to take the Five out coz I was slow today so hid it well – took my emergency “dog and bone” with me just in case
Blimey you that worried about bonking you where on the limit. Of to lunch and the cinema today. 22nd April Should be fine for a ride.
Nah – not bonking just to tired to make it look good
Have a good time @ the cinema – OK cool 22nd it is
You’d still get wet on a road ride, but at least you wouldn’t have to clean the bike.
Well done on getting out there.
No worries – I took the dirtiest bike out so needed a clean anyway
